Thai Massage Teacher Certification

Certified Thai Bodywork Instructor (TBI) Program Criteria

Certified Thai Bodywork InstructorThai Bodywork has a Certified Instructor (TBI) program that certifies individuals to teach specific components of the Thai Bodywork curriculum. If a student is interested in becoming an instructor, they can arrange an initial meeting with Thai Bodywork staff to determine mutual feasibility. If there is a decision to proceed, the student will be asked to complete an application, which will be reviewed prior to a decision on acceptance into the program. We do not accept applications from individuals unless they have already taken classes at Thai Bodywork.

There is no separate teacher training course, because becoming a teacher is predicated on first becoming an excellent practitioner and gaining enough personal experience doing Thai bodywork to be able to offer this wisdom and experience to others. After that, the candidate assists Thai Bodywork instructors in teaching actual classes, and will be certified as an instructor when and if the candidate is deemed ready to teach on their own.

The following are minimum criteria for beginning instructor certification. The underlying principle is that a Thai Bodywork teacher must be first of all an excellent practitioner. Every instructor who presents Thai Bodywork material is essentially a representative of TBW to their student population. We have created positive awareness, established standards of excellence in our teaching, and wish to maintain and hopefully enhance these standards as we expand our group of certified instructors. A candidate may be invited into the program before completing all of these requirements, but they must be completed prior to final certification.
